Coconut-Ginger-Lemon-Mint Tea
I invented this tea—or at least I think I did—as a miraculous cure for pot-smoking-induced cottonmouth. I add 2 or 3 thin slices of raw ginger, a half of a lemon (squeezed), and a sprig of fresh mint to a teacup and add boiling water. After it sits for a minute or two, I stir in a spoonful of coconut oil. The coconut really coats and soothes my throat but since it is so light it is barely detectable to my mouth. It does, however, hangout on my lips after each sip which is great because coconut oil can actually be used to remedy dry lips and skin! This tea is wonderful for a sore throat but also for digestion/upset stomach as mint and ginger are both known stomach soothers. I hope you make it and love it!
Note: The difference between fresh ingredient tea like this and dried tea leaves is like the difference between fresh and canned fruit! This is so much better!
